Goodbye Holiday Eating, Hello Fitness! | Between the Lines

There?s something about the holidays that always seems to send us off the fitness bandwagon. It typically starts at Thanksgiving. Between the turkey, mashed potatoes and green bean casserole ?- you?re pretty much done. But somehow you find room for mom?s tasty stuffing, the sweet potatoes, that yummy corn bread, a little cranberry sauce, oh? and the gravy: Poured over EVERYTHING. Just thinking about it makes us feel guilty (and hungry). But that guilt certainly didn?t stop us for eating all that sinful deliciousness for the next 5 days. Not to mention all the baking, seasonal pies, cakes and breads. Now combine all that with Christmas dinner and the flavorful stuff consumed between November and New Years Eve and wowza ? time to get back on track!

Today is Personal Trainer Awareness Day. People around the world choose January 2nd as their starting point to make healthy choices. Many are overwhelmed by the gym ? but who isn?t? Instead of backing down, stand up and take control! Personal Trainers are knowledgeable and effective coaches. They work with you to design unique programs created specifically to meet individual goals. Some want to slim down, others want more muscle mass, and others just want to look good naked! No matter what your goals are, Personal Trainers are there to help out. So start the year off right and set yourself up for success! If you already have a gym membership, ask your gym staff about their personal training programs. Many of them offer the first session or two at no charge! Don?t have a membership? Google ?personal training? in your city and see what comes up!

Make 2013 your year and get healthy! Grab this year by the horns and make it awesome. We?re going to, and we can?t wait!
